Art
The Pyongyang Art Gallery was devoid of abstract art 'the people and the artists don't like it' explained the guide. The socialist realism style dominates with plenty of beaming faces of proud revolutionaries, not to mention the smiling Kims. The guide explained without any sense of irony that there were in excess of 650 portraits of the Great Leader in the gallery. Many of the portraits record the Kims providing 'on-the-spot guidance' to various North Korean enterprises and activities.
