Tony Lumb is a chartered accountant who has spent 15 years working with underperforming companies and their lenders and investors. He is experienced in both operational and financial restructuring and has worked with a wide range of companies from small owner managed businesses through to FTSE250 companies.
He joined Vincere in 2005 and since then he has carried out both advisory and “hands on” assignments. In 2006 he was the interim finance director in a fully listed group with debt issues and helped steer the business through cash flow difficulties to a successful sale. In 2007 he took responsibility for cash management in a highly distressed £450m turnover group and helped stakeholders implement an operational restructuring and refinancing plan.
Before joining Vincere Tony was the team leader of KPMG’s restructuring practice in the North. He worked on a large number of advisory assignments frequently focused on cash management and cost reduction. His final assignment at KPMG was a five month cost review in the nuclear sector which identified savings of £60m in a £1 billion budget. Whilst gaining invaluable experience on large projects, Tony gained the greatest satisfaction working with entrepreneurs in small and medium sized companies.
Outside of work Tony spends his leisure time with his wife and three children. His two sons are good sportsmen and many hours are spent supporting Unicorn Athletic, Altrincham FC Juniors and Timperley Cricket Club. Reading, music and swimming are other pastimes.
